Yes, the DOD/CDMRP funds Alzheimer's research.

Recorded: April 5, 2023

The Peer Reviewed Alzheimer’s Research Program (PRARP) funds high-impact, high innovation research, prioritizing supporting research worldwide that transforms and pushes the field forward. PRARP funds research across the globe and supports efforts to improving diagnosis now, understanding the mechanisms of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and related dementias (ADRD) particularly after TBI, maximizing quality of life for persons living with dementia and their care communities, and working to prevent and reduce risk of developing AD/ADRD. But how can you apply for this funding? The PRARP is part of the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP) housed within the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD). Navigating this source of U.S. Federal funding can be challenging but also incredibly rewarding. Dr. Sarah Fontaine, program manager for the PRARP, will build on the 2022 ISTAART introduction to CDMRP/PRARP and speak about the PRARP’s priorities and provide tips, tricks, and strategies for a successful application to the PRARP.
