This Basics webinar will provide educational content from experts in the field of Alzheimer’s and dementia research. Sessions will include a 20-minute primer presentation, quiz and Q&A. Researchers and healthcare professionals do not have strategies and guidelines to conduct equitable health research practices. A forum is needed to lay the foundation for the importance of health and gender equality so that strategies and guidelines for equitable health research practices can be developed. 

Target Audience

This activity is intended for biochemists, geriatric psychiatrists, geriatric specialists, molecular and cell biologists, neurologists, neuroscientists, pharmacologists, primary care physicians, physician assistants, psychiatrists, psychologists, and radiologists involved in the research and/or care of people with Alzheimer’s and other dementias.

Educational Objectives 

After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:

  1. Describe the importance of health and gender equality

  2. Develop strategies and guidelines to conduct equitable health research practices.

  3. Practice critical thinking, engage in higher order discussions, encourage multiple perspectives while respecting other peoples opinions and ideas, construct logical arguments and effectively problem-solve while being gender equitable
